Exercising is important for everyone regardless of whether you have an intellectual disability or not.
Here are some of the benefits of exercising.
There are lots of health benefits to exercising such as a reduce risk of:

Exercising can allow us to shape our bodies in the way we want to and give us something to work towards and be proud of.
Exercising can be fun, you just have to find a type of exercise you enjoy.
You may enjoy going to a gym class, or going for a hike with a friend.
Exercising can be part of your daily or even weekly routine.
What counts as exercise?
- Dusting the house
- Lifting weights at the gym
- Going for a run
- Going for a walk
- Doing a cardio class
- Doing a yoga class
There are lots of different types of exercise and it’s good to do a mix.
