Living alone with or without an intellectual disability can be a challenge.

But, living alone is possible and many people do it successfully!

Here are some of our tips for living alone.

Keep a list of things that you need to do so you do not forget.

A diary or list on your fridge may help you.

Keep your house tidy.

Avoid leaving dangerous objects like knives or scissors lying around.

Always lock your doors and windows when you go out.

This will keep your house and belongings safe and protected.

Keep on top of bills, so you do not fall behind with payments.

If there is something you need help with, ask a support person or someone you trust.
By following these simple tips you will be on your way to living alone happily and safely.
