How to find a disability support worker that is perfect for you

Living on a budget can be hard whether you have an intellectual disability or not.
Here are some of our top tips for budgeting your money.
Making a budget plan is really important, it shows you if you are over spending.
There are lots of different ways to keep a budget plan but here are some steps you can follow.
1. Work out how much money you have coming in each month. This includes money you earn from your job, benefits or other sources. This is called your income.
2. Now work out how much you spend each month, these are your expenses.
3. Make sure you include variable costs such as:
-food -transportation
4. And fixed costs such as: -rent
-utility bills
Once you have worked out your income and expenses you should compare these numbers. Your expenses should be less than your income.

-look online for budgeting tools

It’s important that you track your expenses, there are a couple of ways you can do this. -use an expense tracking app
-use a spreadsheet
-write it down in a journal

-Deposit money into a savings bank account each month
-use a budgeting app that allows you to put money aside to save
You can save money on other expenses by: -comparing the costs of things like groceries and car insurance
-avoid buying things on credit as they have a high interest rate and cost us more money to pay back.
